Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes, we are in-network with Traditional Medicare Part B. If you have Traditional Medicare and a secondary supplement, your outpatient physical therapy services are typically covered in full. Please note that we are out-of-network with Medicare Advantage/Part C plans.

Do you accept commercial insurance?

We are an Out-of-Network (OON) provider for all other commercial insurance companies (everything except traditional Medicare). This means we collect payment directly from you at the time of service. We will gladly provide you with an itemized receipt (a Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend you contact your insurance provider and ask for an Explanation of Benefits for out-of-network physical therapy services to understand if they will reimburse you for services.

Why are you Out-of-Network for commercial insurance?

By not letting insurance corporations dictate your care, we can provide a much higher level of service that standard insurance-based clinics cannot match. In our clinic, you are never passed off to an aide, and you never share your appointment time with another patient. You get 100% of your therapist's specialized expertise for the entire time you are here, leading to faster results, greater satisfaction and fewer visits overall.

What makes GHNPT different from other physical therapy clinics?

At Great Hope Neuro Physical Therapy, we believe neurological and vestibular recovery requires more than a "one size fits all" approach. Unlike traditional high-volume clinics where you may be passed off to an aide or assistant and only see your physical therapist for a few minutes, every session here is spent 100% one-on-one with your expert Doctor of Physical Therapy.

By stepping away from the restrictions of standard commercial insurance models, we are able to provide longer, unhurried treatment sessions and highly personalized care plans. We focus entirely on what truly matters: delivering the intensive, high-quality therapy you need to move better, feel safer, and live more independently.

Do I need a doctor's referral to see you?

In California, you can be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist for up to 12 visits or 45 days (whichever comes first) without a physician's referral. If care needs to extend beyond that, we will collaborate with your doctor to secure a signature on your plan of care. Note: Traditional Medicare does require a certified plan of care, which we will handle seamlessly for you after your first visit.

How do I know if I'm making progress?

Each month we will perform a progress assessment, in which we take updated measurements of your strength, eye function, dizziness, balance, gait, etc and compare the results to past testing to assess for progress and update your PT plan of care. We have a thorough discussion with your regarding your goals, update our plan as needed, and then send a report to your doctor so they can stay updated on your progress with physical therapy.
